Horror fans can sharpen their candy canes as SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT prepares to spread festive fear beyond cinemas. The riotous new slasher from the producers of Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3 arrives on Home Premiere on January 26, followed by a Blu-ray and DVD release on March 2.
Written and directed by Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn, V/H/S/85), the film is a bold modern reimagining of the notorious 1980s Santa slasher, injecting it with pitch-black humour, brutal invention and a distinctly contemporary edge. Rising genre favourites Rohan Campbell (The Monkey, Halloween Ends) and Ruby Modine (Happy Death Day) lead the cast in a festive nightmare that gleefully balances shock and style.
Silent Night, Deadly Night delivers a string of standout set-pieces, including a twisted update of the original film’s infamous antlers kill and a barn dance sequence that escalates into full-blown carnage. A thumping score from Blitz//Berlin (Psycho Goreman) underpins the mayhem, while sharp-eyed viewers will spot sly homages to genre landmarks such as Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer.
Beneath the bloodshed, the film finds space for genuine emotion, weaving a surprising romantic thread through the chaos. It’s a slasher that understands both the thrill of excess and the value of character, offering gore, tension and heart in equal measure.
Alongside Campbell and Modine, the film features strong supporting turns from David Lawrence Brown (Orphan: First Kill), David Tomlinson (Psycho Killer), Sharon Bajer (Dark Harvest) and Mark Acheson (Brand New Cherry Flavour). After a festive UK cinema run, SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT cements its place among a wave of modern horror hits including Barbarian, The Monkey, Weapons and Smile 2 — delivering laughs, scares and enough seasonal savagery to leave audiences hungry for more.
