Star Trek Beyond Trailer

The first trailer for Star Trek Beyond has landed!

Fuelled by the Beastie Boys’ Sabotage the first trailer for Star Trek Beyond is light on plot, but heavy on the action. The rebooted crew of The Enterprise are back for their third mission, this time they have a new captain at the helm in the form of Justin Lin (Fast and Furious). The trailer lives up to what you would expect from a more action centric Star Trek movie, but it is early days yet and I’m struggling to care about anything until I’ve seen Star Wars at least three times.

The trailer has already angered some fans who are puzzled why the movie looks more like a generic sci-fi action flick than a Star Trek motion picture. Those angry fans might have a point, but as we are only seeing 90 seconds of the whole two hour production, I think it’s a tad early to have a solid opinions.

Starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg (who also co-writes the script),  Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin and Idris Elba. Star Trek Beyond is released in cinemas July, 2016.
