A brand new trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman prequel has arrived! The King’s Man whisks the franchise back in time to explore the formation of the super stylish yet secret organisation.

Proving to be a perfectly suitable replacement for the cast against type (but totally worked) Colin Firth, Ralph Fiennes takes on lead duties as the WW1 solider who would form the best-dressed spy outfit the world has ever seen. Taking a promising young man under his wing (played by Harris Dickinson) who needs guidance to reach his potential. The latest trailer gives us a much better idea of what to expect, which while contains DNA of the first two films, this is a very different type of movie. That said, it seems as though Vaughn has been itching to make another period piece since X-Men First Class, and who isn’t a sucker for a good wartime adventure.

Unlike many franchises that use the prequel as a last-ditch cash cow, Vaughn is planning a sequel to The Golden Circle to round out the trilogy, and a US set spin-off focusing on their US counterparts the Stateman. That branch was introduced in The Golden Circle which suggested that Channing Tatum’s Agent would join the UK branch for Kingsman 3. While that could still be the case, plot details for the sequel remain under wraps. We should have a better idea as to the future of the franchise once The King’s Man hits cinemas.

Also starring Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Daniel Brühl, with Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance, The King’s Man is released in cinemas on February 14, 2020.
