We're making a few changes...sorry for the inconvience.

The film comes to us from director Jay Roach, best known for Austin Powers and Meet The Parents, Roach makes an usual sidestep into the world of biopics. Cranston is on fine form in the title role,  and we can already hear the sound of an Oscar nomination coming his way. The story of Dalton Trumbo is as exciting as any of the iconic movies he wrote. Blacklisted by the industry for his involvement in the communist party, Trumbo carried on writing under a pseudonym and won two Academy Awards as a blacklisted writer.

Also starring Diane Lane, Louis C.K., Elle Fanning, John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg and Helen Mirren. And yes, that is Dean O’Gorman aka Fili from The Hobbit as Kirk Douglas. Trumbo is released in the US on November 6, sadly we’ll have to wait until January 22 before we can see it.

The successful career of 1940s screenwriter Dalton Trumbo (Bryan Cranston) comes to a crushing end when he and other Hollywood figures are blacklisted for their political beliefs. TRUMBO (directed by Jay Roach) tells the story of his fight against the U.S. government and studio bosses in a war over words and freedom, which entangled everyone in Hollywood from Hedda Hopper (Helen Mirren) and John Wayne to Kirk Douglas and Otto Preminger.
