“In 2002 the investigation ceased, but my personal obsession did not. Our work is the key to everything. I can’t do this alone.”
The X-Files are back in action next year with a six-part miniseries, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are back as FBI investigators Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Following the disappointing movie sequel, we had assumed that The X-Files would remain a thing of the past. I’ll admit to be a bit of a Scully about the revival, but this first full trailer has left me intrigued and playfully nostalgic.
The new series catches up with Scully and Mulder a decade after we last them, all doesn’t seem well between them, but they are reunited to continue their pursuit of the truth. Other returning cast members include Mitch Pileggi, William B Davis, Annabeth Gish and Nicholas Lea, that’s right the dastardly Alex Krycek is back.
The X-Files will be reopened on January 24, 2016.
As if one new trailer wasn’t enough, a brief clip has also been released online for your enjoyment.
Thirteen years after the original series run, the next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES will be a thrilling, six-episode event series helmed by creator/executive producer Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY.
