Based on Nancy Myers’ high-concept rom-com that starred Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt, What Women Want, the remake swaps the genders and ups the NSFW comedy. Henson stars as a successful sports agent who is passed up for promotion (yet again), but a night out (a and visit from a psychic) leaves her with the power to read the minds of all men.
Unlike the original 2000 film that was a PG-13 (12) rated comedy, What Men Want is a raunchy R-rated remake. I wasn’t expecting much; if the recent Overboard redo was anything to go by, comedy remakes are still a risky venture. My low expectations were unfounded as this Red Band trailer was freaking hilarious. Game Night and Blockers restored some faith in R-Rated comedies earlier this year, hopefully, What Men Want can be added to that list when it hits cinemas in February.
