Based on the cult movie of the same name from Jemaine Clement & Taika Waititi, the TV spin-off of What We Do In The Shadows finally has a UK launch date. The FX produced series is currently airing in the US, now we Brits get to sample the vampiric delights of the series when it lands on BBC Two later this month.
On Sunday, May 19 at 9.45pm, BBC Two is kick-starting this sinfully funny series with a double bill! The series relocates the setting to America, but the concept remains mainly unchanged. A trio of Vampires living together in Staten Island trying to navigate the modern world while attempting to conquer the Island for the vampire race before their ancient Master reawakens. Featuring Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou and the promise of a cameo from the original trio played by Jemaine Clement, Taika Waititi, and Jonathan Brugh reprising their roles as Vladislav, Viago, and Deacon.
FX recently renewed the series for a second batch of ten episodes that will arrive early next year. The ever-busy Waititi is still planning a sequel to the film, and a spin-off focusing on Rhys Darby’s lovable pack of werewolves titled We Are Wolves (get it). Perhaps the werewolves, not swear-wolves will make an appearance in the second season ahead of their own show. Now that our Sunday nights are free from the edge of your seat tension of Line of Duty, we can sit back and enjoy the undead hilarity of What We Do In The Shadows.
